BENDTNER: BIRMINGHAM CITY CAREER IN SUMMARY

NicklasBendtner was an Arsenal loanee when he spent one season at Birmingham City. The Dane signed for the Midlands club a few years after he was signed by the Gunners. Arsenal signed NicklasBendtnerfromKjobenhavensBoldklub in his native Denmark. KjobenhavensBoldklub is the feeder club for Danish giants FC Copenhagen.


Arsenal completed the signing of the abovementioned Bendtnerin August 2004 and he formed a potent strike partnership with Italian player Arturo in the Arsenal reserves. He made his Arsenal first-team debut as a late substitute during the League Cup clash with home team Sunderland in October 2005. Almost a year later, he was sent out on loan to Birmingham City.

NicklasBendtner officially joined Birmingham City on loan in August 2006 for him toplay regular first-team football. His loan deal from Arsenal to Birmingham City was initially for six months before the loan deal was extended to one year.Bendtner came on for Stephen Clemence for his Birmingham City debut during the Colchester United game in the league on August 5, 2006. He played the last half hour of the game and was responsible for the winning goal thereby starting his Birmingham City career on a positive note.
Bendtner finished his lone season at Birmingham City with eleven goals as he propelled the club to the Premier League. Birmingham City sealed Premier League promotion via the automatic route after finishing second at the end of the regular season in the English Championship. He signed a new five-year deal at Arsenal in May 2007 after impressing while he was on loan to Birmingham City. NicklasBendtner was presented with first-team opportunities when he returned to North London from Birmingham City ahead of the 2007/08 season. He was linked with French club Lyon and Italian Serie A side AC Milan before signing a new Arsenal deal.
