BENDTNER: FOOTBALL CAREER IN SUMMARY

Danish star NicklasBendtner progressed through the youth system at TarnbyBoldklub andKjobenhavensBoldklubbefore signing for North London giants Arsenal. NicklasBendtner signed his first professional contract with the Gunners in 2005 and he went on to make his Arsenal debut during the League Cup clash with Sunderland in October 2005.


At the start of the 2006/07 season, Bendtner was loaned out to Birmingham City from Arsenal. He made 48 appearances for Birmingham City in all competitions before returning to the first team at Arsenal at the end of the season-long loan deal. The Danish striker was at Arsenal until the 2010/11 season when he fell out of favour and was loaned to Sunderland for the most part of the 2011/12 season making 30 appearances in the process. In the following season, NicklasBendtner was loaned to Italian Serie A outfit Juventus where he failed to score in ten appearances.

Bendtner left Arsenal in 2014 and immediately joined German team VFL Wolfsburg on a free transfer. His biggest achievement at Wolfsburg was being the recipient of the winning goal during the 2015 German Super Cup. The striker was released by Wolfsburg in 2016 and he spent the first half of the 2016/17 season in the English Championship in the colours of Nottingham Forest. In March 2017, he signed for Rosenborg in the Norwegian league.
On the international stage, NicklasBendtner turned out for the various Danish youth teams. He played for the u-16, u-17, u-19 and u-21 teams. His senior team debut came at the age of just 18. Bendtner played for the Danish senior team for the first time during an international friendly clash with Poland on August 16, 2006 and he was able to score his first international goal during the game. He represented the team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa and at the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
